Caravan Daalmann Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2009 and 31-Dec-2010 Please note: If you do not book in the local currency of the country where your rental takes place the payment due dates will change and
your main vehicle rental charges will be payable in full upon confirmation of your booking.
This is to lock in the currency rate of the day you booked on and avoid further currency fluctuations. Some charges like taxes,
compulsory fees, extra items may still be payable upon pick up of your vehicle in their local currency.
(Please note, If you book in the local currency of the country where your rental takes place the standard payment terms described under the heading Payment Terms will apply.)
PAYMENT
An initial non refundable deposit will be secured at the time of confirmation of your booking request. This will be itemized in the breakdown of costs on your invoice. In addition and at the same time the Supplier will also require a holding fee to secure your dates, this being 30% of the total balance remaining (with a minimum payment of 250€ - whichever is larger). Please ensure the funds are available from your nominated account at this time – within a max of 10 days from the date of confirmation. Failure to adhere to these conditions may result in the Supplier to not be bound to uphold the agreement and cancellation conditions will then apply. The remaining balance due will be secured from your nominated credit card 20 days prior to the pickup of vehicle. We accept Visa, MasterCard.
For renting a motorhome, the following conditions for trade become the contents of the contract between the owners of Wohnwagen Lohmann ‘the Supplier’ and the ‘renter or hirer’ of the vehicle.
THE AGREEMENT
The subject of the contract is regarding renting a motorhome. The Supplier does not offer any travel guidance and does not offer more than vehicle hire. The legal regulations for the travel contract – in particular the 351 A-I B GB – do not apply. The hirer will use the vehicle independently and the Supplier takes no responsibility for any extra activities taken during the hire of the vehicle.
PICK UP AND DROP OFF
Pick up times: 16:00 - 17:00
Drop off times: 9:30 - 10:00
Pick up between 17:01 and 18:30 will cost 50€ .
You will be required to sign a contract at pick up of your vehicle confirming this agreement.
LATE RETURNS
With late return of the vehicle (return time is specified in the delivery record) the Supplier is able to charge late fees after 59 minutes (after the agreed drop off time) another full day rental. The resulting expenditures of the Supplier as well as claims of the next hirers for being late are going to be credited to the hirers account.
EARLY RETURNS
Returns of the vehicle before expiration of the agreed rental period do not have influence on the costs of renting, unless the vehicle can be otherwise used.
EXTENTION OF VEHICLE HIRE
And extension of the rental period is possible but only after written agreement from the Supplier is confirmed. Generally there is no agreement from the Supplier for the hirer to keep the vehicle for an indefinite period regardless of whether the hirer continues to pay unless this is agreed to first by the Supplier.
ALTERNATE VEHICLE
If the booked vehicle cannot be provided, the landlord reserves himself the right to give the client an alternative vehicle of the same category (in size and equipment). If it is a smaller one and the offer is accepted by the hirer, the rent difference between the two vehicles is refunded.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
The supplier recommends that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.
MINIMUM AGE
Minimum age of all hirers is 21 years old.
DRIVING LICENCE REQUIRMENTS
All hirers have an international drivers licence or must have held a German drivers licence for at least 1 year and must be valid for the respective class of vehicle – which is a class 3, class B – (for vehicles with a permissible total weight of up to 3,500kg) or the class C1 of more than 3,500kg total weight. A valid proof of identity must be supplied along with the drivers licence (both in original) and sighted by the Supplier. At this time a delivery record must be filled in. By signing the delivery record both parties accept the logged condition of the vehicle.
Before the vehicle is handed over a detailed vehicle briefing will take place. The Supplier is able to deny the delivery of the vehicle until the vehicle briefing is finished. If the Hirer is responsible for a delivery delay he/ she will be responsible.
The tenant commits to the return of the vehicle at the contractually agreed time, cleaned inside, with the toilet holding tank emptied and at the status of the logged condition (as per the delivery record signed at pickup). If the toilet is not emptied prior to drop off, a sum of 110€ will be charged. All damaged or missing articles are to be at the expense of the tenant.
The hirer is fully liable to the fullest extent for the vehicle and only persons mentioned on the agreement are entitled to drive the vehicle. If at the time of pickup of vehicle, the hirer mentioned on the agreement has a missing driver’s licence thereby resulting in an abnormal or defective pickup, any related costs will be debited to the tenant. If the agreed hirers drivers licence cannot be provided either at the agreed time of pickup of vehicle or within an appropriate time period, the Supplier is entitled to cancel the contractual agreement – at which time the cancellation policy mentioned in the Terms and Conditions will then apply.
RENTAL RATE
The agreed daily vehicle hire rate is dependent on the price valid a the time of booking request and further confirmed in the invoice, and/or on the agreement signed in the lease contract at the time of pickup of vehicle.
Included in the daily rental rate are the costs of the insurance protection according to the below stated information (Fuel Costs, Insurances) as well as for maintenance, oil consumption and wear and tear.
Excluded in the daily rental rate are all related costs (Fuel costs, Toll costs, Camping costs, Parking fees/ fines and fees for Ferries, any vehicle related penalties) will be at the responsibility of and debited to the hirer.
FUEL COSTS
The vehicle must be returned on the agreed drop off date filled with fuel or additional charges will be incurred. A Lump-Sum Operating Cost of 20€ plus refuelling costs of (2.50€ /litre of diesel).
INSURANCE
Included in the daily rental rate are the costs of the insurance protection according to the below stated information as well as for maintenance, oil consumption and wear and tear.
Liability insurance regarding third parties with unlimited covering for damage to property and financial damages, for personal injuries to a maximum 8 million€.
Indemnification Clause/ Insurance Excess: The fixed claim after the initiation of part and /or of a full insurance cover against all risks is - excess of 500€ and /or 1000.00€ per each accident. (With the exception of ‘Country Class’ which is 1000.00€ and /or 2,000€).
Passenger Accident Insurance: With the following covering sums – Disablement 21,000€ and death 13,000€ per vehicle.
RENT
The vehicle hire rate is calculated based on which season each day of hire falls into. The day of the vehicle pick up and the day of return (drop off) are calculated as one day (calendar day hire). This only if the vehicle is returned within the prescribed period at the agreed time.
PRE-CLEANING FEE
A service sum of 125€ is required at the time of pickup of vehicle. This is a one off fee and contains among other things the preparation of the vehicle as well as the inventory (detailed vehicle briefing) at time of pick up.
RESERVATION AND TERMS OF PAYMENT
ADAC Motorhome reservations are only confirmed after written reservation confirmation by the Supplier is given. This gives the hirer entitlement to the vehicle category and hire dates. These will be confirmed only after secondary Supplier deposit of 30% of rent is secured. (See Payment for more information). So far after 9 the position of a spare vehicle is not permissible. On a specific sketch no requirement insists.
CANCELLATIONS
It is advised that a general legal right of withdrawal is not intended with all vehicle Leases. The Supplier however grants a contractual right of withdrawal to the hirer in the following described extent only.
With resignation from the obligatory reservation the following cancellation fees become relevant:
Initial booking deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
63 days - 24 days before the pickup date - 30% of the total rental price.
23 days – 11 days before the pickup date – 60% of the total rental price.
10 days prior to pickup date – 80% of the total rental price.
3 days prior to pickup – 95% of the total rental price.
For the cancellation, when the written declaration of cancellation is received is relevant. Ensure that you contact the Supplier in the first instance if you should wish to cancel. A no show or non collection is considered as cancellation. For the security of the cancellation risk it is recommended to have your own travel insurance.
CHANGE OF RESERVATION DATES
Ensuring that there is free capacity in the Suppliers calendar in the requested change dates for the vehicle hired – a change of reservation is possible up to 14 days prior to pick up without a surcharge. This only if the agreed rental period is for the same number of days or longer.
Providing a spare tenant is possible and only with written permission from the Supplier, the Supplier can refuse change reservation changes at their discretion.
To contest the cancellation policy, the hirer must prove that damage to the reservation did not occur – for all monies or only for a little of the amount stated.
BOND
The bond at a value of 1000 € must be paid to the rental company by the time of pick up. This will be secured by either cash or with credit card. This service is free of charge.
With normal and stipulated return of the vehicle as well as after final financial settlement the bond will be returned to the hirer. All resulting auxiliary expenditures and costs (e.g. cleaning costs, toilet sanitisation costs, refuelling costs, damage/s etc) are going to be cleared on the return of the vehicle and will be taken from the Bond.
Due to any damages to the vehicle the Supplier is able to estimate the cost on the basis of an estimation of costs. Until clarification on whomever is liable to pay costs and confirmation on the estimates is available, the Supplier has the right to retain the bond.
Proof that damage did not occur at all or is substantially low, remains to be proved by the hirer.
SPARE VEHICLE
If the vehicle in the booked category is not available at the time of pickup, the Supplier reserves the right to provide an alternative vehicle of the same category (in size and with comparable equipment). There will be no extra charges for the hirer.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed.
Pets
Pets are only allowed with prior consultation with the supplier, however cleaning costs would incur if any smelling of animal or hair are found on vehicles.
Travel Restriction
Travel within Western Europe are allowed
Ferries in Europe are allowed
All other countries require the consent of the supplier
Travel in war and crisis zones are generally not permitted

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
